Winter Dance
Party Rockin’ Kid’s Show

Grades: K–5
When: Annually during the first week of February
Bring your students to the legendary Surf Ballroom for a rockin’ good time they’ll never forget! Held during our annual Winter Dance Party celebration, the Rockin’ Kid’s Show is a high-energy, on-site concert experience designed especially for elementary students. This exciting performance honors the legacy of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, offering a fun and meaningful way to connect with music history.

The show takes place on the same historic stage where the legends once performed, making it an unforgettable learning opportunity that blends music, history, and community celebration.

Our next Master Class, “Turning Your Passion into a Prosperous Business,” will be presented by Ralph Kluseman, President of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. Ralph brings a wealth of experience as a business counselor with the Northeast Iowa Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and as a celebrated musician and entertainer.

This empowering session will help students approach their creative passions with a business mindset, teaching strategies for building a successful and sustainable career. It will also include a Q&A with Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductees, sharing real-life stories and advice.
