Hi! I’m Diane Stadtlander, a farmwife near Klemme, a mom of two, a grandma of 3, past Medical Transcriptionist, piano teacher, accompanist, Auxiliary member, 4H supporter, and church musician.
I was involved in band and chorus all through school, accompanying when not playing or singing. I took piano lessons for 12 years with Gracka Gerardi and later with Tim Schmidt. I have been teaching private and group piano lessons to students of all ages, in my studio, for 40 years. I studied piano at Waldorf University and later was an adjunct in private piano and groups at Waldorf for 10 years.
Over the years I have enjoyed accompanying in area schools and being a church musician – youth and adult choir director, organist, pianist, and Bell choir in several churches. I have been an active member of MTNI (Music Teachers of North Iowa) and the state IMTA, giving me the opportunity to offer my students events like solo and multi-piano festivals, contests, Master Classes, workshops, and continuing Ed for me.
It is my goal to expose students to all styles of music and help to fit it into their lifestyle – whether learning just for fun, for contest, for accompanying, for church, in jazz band, etc. Music can be relaxing and energizing, and I hope it is something they can enjoy their whole lives even when the joints get too old to participate in other activities.
